CONTACT USIn collaboration with Bangor Tandoori, we produced a 360-degree virtual tour, creating a key digital marketing asset designed to immerse potential diners in the restaurant's authentic atmosphere. The primary objective of the project was to provide an interactive online experience that would allow prospective customers to explore the restaurant's interior layout and ambiance before visiting or making a reservation.
The project scope mandated the capture of several high-resolution panoramic scenes from strategic viewpoints within the establishment. Key areas specified for capture included the main dining area to convey its capacity and decor, and a vantage point that highlighted the traditional tandoor oven. The brief specified the use of the Ricoh Theta Z1 camera to produce high-dynamic-range (HDR) images, ensuring a high-fidelity representation of the interior for the final virtual tour.
Bangor Tandoori is an established culinary institution located in the city of Bangor, North Wales, specialising in authentic Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine. For many years, it has maintained a significant presence in the local dining scene, recognised for its consistent adherence to traditional culinary practices. The restaurant's reputation is built upon providing classic South Asian dishes, establishing it as a long-standing fixture for the community.
Its culinary approach is centred on a comprehensive menu that reflects the rich gastronomic heritage of the Indian subcontinent. A particular emphasis is placed on the use of the traditional tandoor oven, which is fundamental to the flavour profiles of its signature offerings. The restaurant’s focus is on delivering a consistent and authentic dining experience, prioritising established recipes and the use of traditional spice blends to appeal to a clientele that values genuine and reliable flavour.
Consequently, Bangor Tandoori has solidified its position as an enduring and dependable destination in Bangor's hospitality sector. Serving local residents, the university community, and visitors, its longevity and unwavering commitment to a traditional culinary model have made it a benchmark for authentic South Asian cuisine in the area, contributing significantly to the gastronomic landscape of the city.
This project involved the production of a 360 virtual tour for Bangor Tandoori, designed to provide an immersive digital representation of their restaurant. The tour comprises four distinct panoramic scenes, captured as high-resolution HDR (High Dynamic Range) images using the Ricoh Theta Z1 360-degree camera to accurately represent the warm lighting and authentic atmosphere of the dining space.
The post-production workflow began in Adobe Lightroom, where the raw panoramic images were processed for initial colour grading and exposure balancing. This step was crucial for ensuring a consistent visual tone and optimising the dynamic range across all scenes. Subsequently, the images were brought into Adobe Photoshop for detailed digital refinement, a process which involved meticulous nadir patching to remove the tripod footprint and the careful removal of any minor environmental imperfections to produce a clean and seamless final composite for the tour.
