CONTACT USIn collaboration with The Copper Kingdom, we produced a 360-degree virtual tour designed to function as a core digital asset for their outreach and visitor engagement. The primary objective of the project was to create an immersive online experience, allowing virtual visitors to explore the exhibition's key displays and unique atmosphere from anywhere in the world, thereby extending its educational reach and encouraging future physical visits.
The project scope required the capture of three distinct 360-degree panoramic scenes from strategic viewpoints within the centre. The brief specified the use of our Theta V 360 camera to ensure a high-quality, comprehensive representation of the main exhibition halls. The final deliverable was intended to provide a seamless and interactive virtual walkthrough, accurately conveying the layout and narrative of the exhibition for integration into their digital platforms.
The Copper Kingdom Exhibition Centre, located in Amlwch, Anglesey, is a significant heritage attraction dedicated to the interpretation and preservation of the rich industrial history of Parys Mountain. The centre serves as a crucial gateway to understanding what was once the world's largest copper mine in the 18th century, a site of global importance. Its core purpose is to narrate the profound story of the mine, the local community it sustained, and its far-reaching impact on global industry and trade.
The exhibition's interpretive strategy is centred on a collection of artifacts, interactive displays, and reconstructed scenes that bring the harsh realities and immense scale of the copper mining industry to life. The visitor experience is designed to guide you through the geological formation of Parys Mountain, the discovery of its vast copper deposits, the innovative mining techniques employed, and the lives of the men, women, and children who worked the mines. It provides a comprehensive historical narrative, contextualising the local story within a wider global framework.
Consequently, The Copper Kingdom stands as a vital cultural and educational anchor for the region, safeguarding and promoting the unique heritage of Amlwch and Anglesey. It functions as a key educational resource for schools and researchers and is an essential destination within the local tourism economy. By preserving this powerful story of industrial prowess and social history, the centre ensures that the legacy of Parys Mountain's copper industry remains a tangible and understood part of the area's identity.
This project involved the production of a 360 virtual tour of The Copper Kingdom Exhibition Centre. The virtual tour is comprised of 3 x 360-degree photos, captured with our Theta V 360 camera to document the key areas and displays within the facility.
The post-production workflow for the panoramic images was a multi-stage process. Initial colour grading and exposure balancing were conducted in Adobe Lightroom to establish a consistent and authentic visual tone. Following this, the images were brought into Adobe Photoshop for detailed editing, which included meticulous nadir patching to remove the equipment footprint. The final stage of refinement involved processing the images through Topaz Denoise AI and Sharpen AI to reduce digital noise and enhance overall clarity, resulting in an optimised and highly detailed final composite for the tour.
